SpaceX - Developing a microsite
« on: 05/09/2018 12:19 pm »
Hello  :)

I am currently studying web development and have a project exam this month. Our task is to build a microsite for SpaceX, that should focus on space technology.

A microsite is a branded, self-contained site, usually on a its own domain, with a single purpose and a limited number of pages. The purpose can be promotional or editorial, and be may linked to a specific event or period of time. A microsite is usually built as an addition to an existing brand website.

Since i am no space enthusiast myself, i come here asking for some help.

So what i am asking for is any suggestions to what the site should contain, or any functions to implement to make the site interesting.

All help is greatly appreciated! :)

If you wanted to focus on a particular event, the Falcon Heavy Demo flight in February would have lots of pictures, videos, articles, etc. available for you to work with.  If you wanted to show something like filtering data on a page then you could try having a history of SpaceX launches that could be filtered by date, launch location, etc.  If you wanted to focus on a technology then landing the first stage of the rocket might be a good choice, as there as lots of pictures/videos/information available on that topic.

As for advice, I'd say if this website would be around SpaceX would be cool if you have some retrospective about the company and its history in general. Link to side projects and discussion sessions would fit too I guess.
