Looks like third stage failure. The separation also looked more violent to me than usual. The crew reported they were weightless after second stage separation so that's not good.

It seemed at the time when korolev cross happened, something blew up to many pieces...

YouTube feed has dropped out.

What was the repeating Morse signal. It sounded like NDNDND?

Yes, there were definitely more than the 4 pieces we usually see.

Tower hadn't yet jettisoned right? Did it seem like it fired, or is this a high-altitude abort?

Looks like the same scenario as the Soyuz-18A launch abort in April 1975. Back then the crew landed in an inhospitable mountaineous area just north of the Chinese border.

This was a much higher energy abort (beyond third stage ignition)

Search and rescue teams are in the air. Will take 1.5 hours to reach landing location.

Discussions about abort and booster failure and wheeling weightlessness were ongoing right after booster separation, where as the animation on the Russian feed kept on showing the booster flying nominally. It can not have been at third stage separation - at that point they did switch the feeds and cut of the obviously pre-prepared animation.
