Why are they referring to "PY" and "NY" when talking about the side boosters?

If you look at the Falcon Vehicle Co-ordinate frame, you'll see that the boosters form a line along the Y-axis.  So to distinguish them, from the center core's perspective, one is one the positive side (+Y or "PY") and one is on the negative side (-Y or "NY").  This picture doesn't explicitly show it, as it's of a F9 not FH.  But you can see that the co-ordinates are the same for both vehicles and how it would work with the side boosters attached.
Shouldn't reality posts be in "Advanced concepts"?  --Nomadd

You can actually spot a part of the center core landing leg going into the drink at 38h:34m into the web cast. I'm quite sure.
How did you get that shot? No matter what playback speed I use, and trying to advance frames at the smallest increments possible, I don't see that through the steam/smoke. When I try to advance it looks like I'm moving 5 frames at a time forwards or backwards. Is there a way to advance just 1 frame at a time?

I wonder if the Guinness Book of Records will take the Tesla's 24,606 mph as the absolute world speed record for cars?
Not a world record. The Tesla has left this world.

Try downloading it first and then you'll have better control.
It's Tony De La Rosa, ...I don't create this stuff, I just report it.

Starman nearing first perigee at around 7:00 pm Eastern time, in just a few minutes.

Furiously pressing the space bar worked flawlessly, as I was quite sure I noticed something. No fancy software or downloading required.

Looks like we've had (temporarily I hope) LOS from the Starman car cam.

That has happened at least one time already

From that timing, and from the fact that the pre-launch animation showed that the TMI burn would happen at apogee, I hate to say it, folks, but I think TMI is gonna burn at apogee, not perigee.

As always, I could be (and probably am) wrong... ;)

The upper stage is near perigee, only ~200 km over the Atlantic. I bet they lost signal to ground tracking stations. It will show up again as it climbs back above the horizon.

Now ~700 km up and about to make landfall over Namibia. Looks like the link is back up but it's in orbital night so just pure blackness.

I do like the large & friendly Don’t Panic sign on the dashboard. I am sure Mr Adams would approve.
Would you believe...... a car in space?

Yep.  Center engine started up, side engines did not.  Impacted the ocean at 300 mph...

Starman cam back.  You could see lightning on Earth in the background.

The questions suck so far.  Nothing really specific, just touchy feely questions.

"Look at that! If anybody ever said, "you'll be sitting in a spacecraft naked with a 134-pound backpack on your knees charging it", I'd have said "Aw, get serious". - John Young - Apollo-16

The future market for FH was a good one, but Elon kinda sidestepped it.
