People have been parking along the full length of the northside of 401 around the port. I had a space early on about 9:30a close to the giant terminal parking lot. Took a mile walk to the bleachers just inside the base gate close to 11am and hardly any people were there, so I walked back to get my car and had zero problem finding a new space just outside the gate at 12:30. Sitting near the top of the 2nd set of bleachers right now. I'm wearing a bright red shirt & tan baseball hat with the letter 'J'. Pls say hi if you're here. Omigosh, only 10 more minutes!!

Just curious about the gate. I presume there is a guard. You just let them know you are there to use the bleachers?

Go Searcher is back in port, just across from Fishlips.  You can take a look, maybe see if one of the crew drops
by for a bite. ;)

Where?

If that's GoSearcher it's looking a little worse for wear. LoL

2nd pic has the go searcher
That's her.  The red ramp thing is where OCISLY berths; it sits underneath the wing and prevents it from scraping the dock AIUI.

Can you tell if anyone's moving around over there?  I'm thinking Go Searcher is taking a break because there's no fairing recovery on the FH mission, but I'd be very intrigued if it looked like (say) they were getting ready to go back out to sea.

Did not drive thru the gate myself but guard was letting everyone thru to a large grass parking lot that looks like still has empty space.

Thx Rocket Science! Just heard about another delay now too

Someone in a green safety jacket is walking around the yellow crane area. Not tell if there was a van moving in the space x side or the shipping cargo crane.

Elon twitted a diagram of the launch and it included a fairing recovery.

Hm! The graphic Elon tweeted was actually a graphic from an NSF news article (!), not created by SpaceX. So fairing recovery still in question.
Why aren't those Go Searcher guys up on the roof deck of Fish lips like everyone else? ;)

Actually -- did anyone near fishlips catch a look at the Exploration Tower sign down the road -- did we confirm it is closed for a "private (SpaceX) event"? (I've attached the sign as it read for the ORS-5 launch.)

Yeah, sitting next to a guy that was trying to get on the list for there.

See if you can pump the Go Searcher crew for GovSat info when they show up. ;)

It was great meeting everybody.  Anytime somebody wants to meet before or after a launch, I am up for it.

It's safe to admit now that I was sort of hoping for a scrub or delay; I was figuring I could fly down for the second attempt. Glad you first-attempters got a great show!

I'm really interested in the post-mortem, though: which of the sites turned out to have the best views/sound?

The view and the sound from the VAB parking lot was amazing.  I left at booster staging and hauled butt down Kennedy parkway and pulled over just before NASA causeway and saw the entry and landing burns and then waited for the staccato of sonic booms.

Getting out of Jetty Park is taking forever.
I wanted to go to fishlips bar, but will take a while before I can get there.

POST MORTEM - VIEWING LOCATIONS

Saturn V Center viewing, sound effects, facilities, etc were spectacular. Liftoff view at 6km was unobscured across the water. De-orbit burn seemed right over our heads. The landing burn was viewable tho we obviously couldn’t see the last little bit due to distance (16km).

Highly recommended, gives LC-39 Observation Gantry a run for its money.

Agree on all counts. Whoever suggested section C for seeing the landings between the buildings, THANK YOU. that was incredible.
