From dream to reality. Congratulations to SpaceX and Tesla for the successful first launch of Falcon Heavy and sending the first car into interplanetary space!

Just W O W !!!!!!!
This launch was amazing. Being able to see the Roadster in orbit for hours, in real time.
And the dual landings.
I wonder how long until SpaceX tops this one. Perhaps only when they launch to the moon or an actual Mars mission.
Looking for companies doing great things for much more than money

Okay -- now that we have official confirmation that the upper stage completed its burn properly, and that all elements of the test flight (with one exception) came off completely nominally, I want to add my congratulations to all of the people at SpaceX.

Especially to all the people who stopped Elon from killing XH those three times....

Thrilled to be able to add my congratulations after confirmation of mission success!

Such an awesome launch, thank you to everyone, Elon, SpaceX, Tesla, NSF, all the Chris' and anyone else who enjoyed today's history in the making.

Let's see where they go next!

He didn't really say who advocated killing it and who keeping it, could have been the other way around for all we know.

But yes, very glad it all worked out in the end.

Congrats to everyone involved on an amazingly successful first mission.

OK, now I can do it!
Congrats SpaceX! It was ubelievable, surreal and beautiful launch! I still can't believe they succeeded and afraid that will wake up and realize it was just a dream. Simultaneous landing of bossters? Car in space live on TV? Come on!
Huge congrats to everybody that made this possible, for their vision, hard work and persistence. The future of space flight looks bright. And also thanks for NSF for great coverage. Thanks Chris G. for reporting, Chris B. for running the site and countles others discussing and educating us, it was great palce to be before, during and after the launch!
Thank you!

This is a video of the presser from another new agency, they cut over to show you who is asking the questions and our very own NSF reporter Chris G. is there at the end.

I had to immediately sleep after watching the flight...

But wow. I've never felt so excited about a launch since, perhaps, April 1981.

Once FH left the pad, everything after was gravy. Really, REALLY good gravy, with steak and mushrooms and mashed potatoes and everything.

Losing the center core was like someone adding some beets on my plate, but I ate them anyway.

Congratulations to SpaceX. It's not everyday that you can show something very different in spaceflight history. You've come a long, long way.

This version of the webcast shows the views from both side boosters as they came in to land at LZ-1 and LZ-2.

Steven, thank you so much for all your updates. Also, thank you to all who make NSF the place to be during a launch (well... when I can't be at the actual launch site, anyway  :)).

SpaceX... wow. Just, wow. You knocked it out of the park. Congratulations to one and all.

Congratulations to SpaceX!

Yes I hosted a little launch party for me and my grandpa, complete with snack tray. And we saw some amazing things. Great launch, the milestones kept being made, when the first view of the Roadster against space showed up I knew this was going to be a huge success, was stunned at the sight.

The two side boosters landing simultaneously at the Cape, if that doesn’t scream “we’re living in the future” I don’t know what does.

They’ll figure out what happened to the center core’s landing attempt and get it right. And seeing the Earth recede in the background and the Roadster in space over the next few hours was inspiring.

Finally, I was out setting up my telescope when I saw this mysterious comet-like brightness with the naked eye, to the southwest moving slowly south...I didn’t get any pics but I saw it around 7:30 pm Mountain. That was the 2nd stage burn toward Mars orbit. I watched a bit of history with my own eyes.

Today was a great day.
I'll even excitedly look forward to "flags and footprints" and suborbital missions. Just fly...somewhere.

Incredible job, Steven Pietrobon!! And a huge congrats to the SpaceX team. I really wish someone would do a 'Mars Direct' style mission with multiple Falcon Heavies someday - seems a waste to just launch some big satellites and then that's about it... :(

Oh well; I'm just going to have to write the fictional story myself! ;) Stay tuned on that within related pages...

Well, it looks like that brings this adrenaline-filled ride to a close.  I knew it was going to be spectacular and incredible, and still I saw things today that I never imagined I'd see.  The sheer number of people who watched various streams, as well...  This really did live up to all of the hype.  "Crazy things can come true", indeed.

Huge congratulations to everyone involved in today's launch.  We still have plenty of launches left to go this year (including some interesting ones with a strange-looking Dragon on top), but something tells me we won't see anything quite this exciting and momentous again until SpaceX launches something 9 meters wide.
All aboard the HSF hype train!  Choo Choo!

With final confirmation of a successful mission I want to send my deepest congratulations to everyone at SpaceX, and to everyone running NSF!

You DID it! The Future has arrived!

This was indeed the coolest launch i have EVER seen, and I have seen two Space Shuttle launches in person and one Delta 4 launch.

I wish I could have been at the Cape for this one but there will be more Falcon Heavy launches :)

Thank You SpaceX!!!

I am in awe of what the SpaceX team has pulled off here.  Nearly every single objective was achieved, in the face of the countless unknowns that all new launch vehicles face.  I look forward to witnessing many more future successes, and if I'm really lucky maybe I'll be able to make it to a BFR launch.  Alas, born nine months after Apollo 8 I'm a little old to make it to Mars myself, but a world in which that trip is possible is certainly something worth leaving to the next generation.

Thank you; you've made the little space nut in me very happy indeed.
