BFR timeline.

Musk: If we get lucky, we'll be able to do short hopper flights of part of BRF next year.

Offset the two boosters slightly for landing, so avoid simultaneous radar reflections.

No plan to recover it. Batteries last 12 hours. Maybe discovered by some future alien race. Why is there a little car in the car? Kind of a fun thing.

Shot hopper flights for BFS, possibly next year.

BFR hopper (up several miles and then back down) flights near Brownsville or ship to ship.

BFS hopper tests at Texas or Ship to Ship. Want to test the heat shield. Want a highly reusable heat shield.

A lot of uncertainties on this program. Now that we're almost done with Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy. Levelling off at version 5 and Dragon 2. The ship part is the hardest. Comes in at Mars transfer velocities. Some things that scale to the eighth power! The booster we under stand pretty well. Starting with the hard part first. First test flight in 3 to 4 years. LEO initially.

For BFS hopper flights, they'll try to test the heat shield by sending it higher and higher towards orbit (it's capable of SSTO)

Reddit user question on suit. Qualification article. Mannequin inside. Three years to design suit. Difficult to make suit that works and looks good.

Fairing recovery has proven difficult.  Maybe they'll get one in the next 6 months.

Talking about BFR dimensions. I bet it doesn't look that big after a while.

Good progress on crew Dragon.  Priority at this point is Crew Dragon.

Fairing recovery has proven to be surprisingly difficult. Fairing interferes with parachute. Flying with fairing version 1. Plan to fly version 2 in future. Have a boat with a giant catchers mit.

Completley dodged the question about Bezos and Space Race
"I think it would be great to be born on Earth and to die on Mars. Just hopefully not at the point of impact." -Elon Musk
"We're a little bit like the dog who caught the bus" - Musk after CRS-8 S1 successfully landed on ASDS OCISLY

Making great progress in Dragon 2. Priority now is crew Dragon. Previous priority was Block 5 and Falcon Heavy,

Chris G gets the last question:  Which is the next Heavy, how was the pad, and how quickly to switch back and forth

E: pad is in great shape, and switching is fast

E: Center core is dedicated, not a conversion, but side cores can be used interchangably, basically  replace the interstage

E: If I had to pick the core to lose, it's the center. those titanium fins are expensive!
