Finally caught my breath!
Congratulations SpaceX!

Now, let's see that TMI burn in a few more hours! :D

Literally. Let's verify the burn is in line-of-sight of Quito an hour after sunset, and call people in Ecuador to get out and watch. Then people along the Bolivia-Brazil border area to see any fuel dump cloud -- and make video.

¡vamonos! mira el cielo !!

It is fitting that the last two orbital launches are SS-520 and Falcon Heavy. Two great achievements at each side of the spectrum.

Congratulations to SpaceX and all involved who made this launch happen. Could not believe my eyes when I saw the count go down from a minute to 10sec, then IGNITION, LIFTOFF!!! Felt like a 10 year old again getting a bike for christmas :)
Such a beautiful sight to finally see this beast take flight.

Missed it live by like 30 minutes  :'(  I couldn't help myself and spoiled myself up to FH clearing the tower before heading to youtube to watch it on delay.

Simply amazing.

So many things went perfect today for SpaceX.  Hopefully they can at least salvage part of the Core stage for analysis.

Let's temporarily stop the congratulations because...

Post-launch news conference coming up shortly.

It will not be live streamed, so I will transcribe here.

Congrats can resume once presser is over.

I rarely post, esp. not for party threads or congrats, but this one has me more excited than I remember being in a long time.

HUGE congrats to SpaceX!!!! You've worked very hard to get here.

To have the first FH come off so well is a testament to your skill, determination, and teamwork.
TL;DR
Keep your posts short if you want them to be read.

OK, let's have a hold point for congrats posts (although we had to trim some obvious discussion posts - come on guys, we have a discussion thread ;D)....as there's a press conference coming up. Chris G is there and will post notes in here.

So hold, hold, hold! Let Chris post his updates.

Given this demo mission is in part to meet USAF requirements, nice to see:

Still waiting for the news briefing.  Seating was limited and sadly they wouldn't let me take a shot of the assembled all-star media folks (including ChrisG) in the briefing room from outside.

Several small pieces of debris are heading off towards space. :-( Might be LOX particles from venting of the tank, which would not be a concern.

Confirmed: The center core has been lost. "We lost the center core" was stated on SpaceX's audio livestream. That's ok though. Today was a HUGE SUCCESS!!! That's an easy fix. #SpaceX #FalconHeavy

Sounds like we lost her, fellas.
