Great shot! This was my first live viewing of a major satellite launch, and I watched it from about half a mile south of the ferry landing, alongside the edge of Pierce Taylor Rd at its intersection with Petit Rd. Nice break in the shoreline trees gave a great view, without getting into the congestion at the landing.
Congrats to NASA, Orbital/ATK, and of course our NSF team!
I am planning to go to Wallops for the OA-9 launch in May. Is the dock still the best viewing area? Any updates or other suggestions?

The NASA ferry dock is probably still the best location unless they start allowing people back on Arbuckle Neck Rd. Bring bug spray!
I hope to make the launch, here is hoping for clear weather and no boats. :-)
The NASA Ferry site is a good spot just arrive early. Oh yes I second the vote on bug spray.
How early should we arrive at the dock or other viewing places?
If you want to beat the crowd a few hours before the launch. The site will get very crowded just before launch time and you will have to park further away.
