The first time I saw this video, I was totally amazed at the brand-new camera footage of these failures.

Not that I prefer failures over successes, but I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Agreed, great new video.   Amazing video quality.

Some day wells see fairing videos too.   But long after they've nailed it down.

Thaicom booster sliding around was the most amazing.
Excited to be finally into the first Falcon Heavy flow, we are getting so close!

This also serves as a cautionary tale (or even a deterrent) for rivals seeking to emulate SpaceX. They will have to be prepared to fail, probably several times, and in public to some degree. After a string of a dozen consecutive successful landing attempts, this is a good time to remind everybody that the learning curve was long and full of RUDs. I think Blue Origin will stick with it, but how many New Glenn boosters will they lose in the process? And will there be any others willing to try?

I had pictured the fate of the final Grasshopper must have looked like in my head many times from squinting at the amateur video of it. So satisfying to see finally see high quality footage of the incident.

I also imagined the stage skidding around the deck many times, made a Youtube video of what I thought it looked like. Wow. Wow. Have to figure out how to slow it down to real time speed.

This new video is astounding. Go SpaceX!

Nice to see a few seconds of video that puts the previously released single frame, Bigfoot sighting like, CASSIOPE ocean impact into better context. She went kaboom but was significantly slowed by the landing burn. So close on attempt #1.

This video also shows they are sitting on a mountain of multi angle footage from every flight. Maybe we'll get to see more someday.

The Thaicom  dance shows we NSFers were right on figuring that out from a few yellow smudges on the tip of a landing leg. From a bingo perspective, it looks like every square on the deck potentially was the winner at some point during the walkabout. :)

Damn.  Where does this guy find the time?

Also, note well Mr. Bezos... throwing a 7m booster at a big friggin' ship will generate some prime-time video, too.  GoPros are cheap -- not so much the flight hardware or space navy.

Bezos should have the business sense of adding a "Rockets and Kabooms" section to Amazon Prime Video. I'd pay for it :D

Note also that Sousa wrote "The Washington Post" march which might be an appropriate soundtrack for the Blue Origin rocket blooper reel..

Wow, some stunning footage...  :o My favorite bits:
 - F9R-Dev1 disintegration... Talk about blockbuster pyrotechnics!
 - The landing that ran out of propellant, it shows how close to the edge of margins they run these landings.

I really want to see that landing... but it wasn't really a failure either (although from the sound of things it almost was)

Currently Trending at #9 on Youtube. I'm amazed that anything spaceflight can hit the popular consciousness this much. This is great.

Edit: Now #8.

Now, what about those Falcon 1 videos?   :)

 - Ed Kyle

I don't think SpaceX will have the time to dig through their video archives and release Falcon 1 footage eight years after it was retired.

Is it bad that I keep thinking how awesome footage like this would be for Falcon Heavy?
