Six SpaceX Launches Synchronized To The Landing

Zach
Published on Jun 27, 2017

Here is a launch montage I've been working on for a while. I was able to finally finish it recently because of all the good daytime launch and landings we have had. Each tile follows a single mission from launch to landing and they all synchronize at the end.

Music credits:
SpaceX Interplanetary Transport System
2001 A Space Odyssey - Blue Danube

Great comparison of the old and new grid fins.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Fantastic video.  Love how the soundtrack is synced (on purpose or not) to the grid fin deploy events.

Excellent work!  I hope this gets a lot of play in Hawthorne!

Beautiful :) Really nice how the grid fins align with the dance of the flowers from the nutcracker. They even look like flower leaves.. almost ;)

I didn't hear any Nutcracker excerpts.    The music starting at around 3:30 is as credited in the original post, part of Johann Strauss II's "Blue Danube Waltz" (sounds like Waltzes I through IV, leaving out V and the Coda)

Oh than I might be mistaken. Sounded like the dance of flowers to me.

They're similar structurally (both 19th century waltzes) but confusing Tchaikovsky vs Strauss is kind of like confusing Energia vs Ariane 5.

Compare:

And, for added amusement, start around 3:55 in:

("quack quack! quack quack!")

( I know both pieces very well... spaceflight is not the only thing I get obsessive about.  )

I really love that shot at 3:42 and the one immediately after, which show the blackened bottom end and enough atmospheric turbulence that you get some sense of how fast that thing is coming down.
