New launch record possible
« on: 03/29/2017 02:42 pm »
At the moment Spaceflight Now launch schedule shows 3 Falcon nine launches, CRS 11, Intelsat 35e and
Ses11/Echostar 105 grouped together with no other launches in between them, if this does happen and that's a big if, it will be a phenomenal achievement so early into their launch program. Elon Musk is becoming the Henry Ford of the rocket industry.

The current launch record is less than 24 hours between launches from the same pad - for Vostok 3 and 4. SpaceX will have a ways to go before matching that record.

The limiting factor is not SpaceX I suspect, but the range recycling.

During the 1960s, the U.S. performed three launches of Atlas/Thor/Titan class rockets within 24 hours several times, from different pads of course!

Can you say "Boca Chica internal range" ? :)

But even before that SpaceX might get to the point that they want to invest in modernization of one or both of the ranges (in partnership with USAF). CommsX will require fast recycle even with many birds per dispenser...

Three in a row launches on Spaceflight Now website has changed to only two, so i think this topic can be closed.
