Too much copypasta
Was that with alfredo or marinara sauce? I always feel a little sluggish after an alfredo lunch.

GNC criteria called the abort.
Looks like the rocket realized it did not have landing legs.

"Guys?  How am I gonna get back home?  Hey, why are you going ahead with the countdown?  What's going on?"

Hopefully they can wipe this AI and install a slightly dumber one before tomorrow's launch window opens!

I knew they shouldn't have upgraded to that new neural net flight computer. It has become self-aware and doesn't wan't to plunge to its death in the ocean.

From the update thread;

More time to get your bingo picks in.

Okay, my pick is the Atlantic Ocean, but not including the deck of ASDS OCISLY. Does anyone have that pick yet? If not, sign me up! :)

Could it be as simple as somebody forgot to put the GNC computer in expendable mode and so it balked at a NULL for the ASDS coordinates. That would interesting. Hopefully it's something as simple as that, although would be kind of a big oversight by somebody.

Ever since I woke up and saw that Long March 5/Shijian-18 failed I had a bad feeling about today's F9 launch attempt. The Chinese launch and F9/Intelsat launch were about the same time of day 12 hours apart. I knew there was some kind of black cloud hanging over today for space ops....but tomorrow's a new day.

Tomorrow could indeed feature a landing off one coast and a launch on the other one. Be interesting if a splashdown bingo for Dragons ever got started.....
I'll even excitedly look forward to "flags and footprints" and suborbital missions. Just fly...somewhere.

In other words, SpaceX is forgetting how to do expendable launches.

Well, it's better than "You are false data".  That one did not turn out so well...

EDIT: Added link for those not familiar with the(excellent, but very low budget) movie.

So, not to be a buzzkill here, but why did this topic get put in the "sticky" section? As I understand it, you make topics sticky because they (a) have useful information many people may want to refer to later, but (b) the topic is infrequently used so it would get otherwise lost in page after page of unused topics. As much as I love (most of) the humor, neither of those criteria would seem to pertain to this thread...

This is by far my favorite landing poll ever!

And re why is this sticky??
...talk to Chris about that. We didn't do it.

But I suspect it is something like the same reason there is a "kids table" at family events.
They think because they are special... and the adults agree....
so special they get to hold their conversations off on the side and let the adults alone.

(c) the thread has awesomeness not accounted for in (a) or (b)

If they scrub today I'm gonna be frakked :D Stayed up last night until 2:35AM only to see T-9s abort :) Today it's been pushing back and back to the end of the window and now it's 3:18AM here with launch at 3:35AM :D I'd have slept and set an alarm had I known that it's around 3AM instead of 2AM.

Oh well, sleep is overrated anyway I guess...
