Shouldn't each Octograbber have its own name.  Like "Bob" or "Sally"?

As of right now there is only one, so The Octagrabber.

Edit * quite right about Octa.

Please stop with the octo.

Octa is the prefix that you should have learned during grade school or before.

What's your point? Do you really believe that English is a grammatically consistent language?

Just refuting the idea that "octa" is the standard numerical prefix associated with the number 8.  "Octo" is just as valid as "octa, and maybe even more prevalent.  The earlier poster has suggested that we all should have learned in grade school to use "octa."  I was simply disagreeing.

Maaba, maaba not.

Even though it's a Discussion thread, maaba it's time for a little self-moderation.  I'm done. :)

So Lars-J mentioned in the discussion thread that the invisible Wonder Woman Dragon Capsule is on the pad for the static fire!

I agree with your earlier statement, but will add a (pseudo)scientific justification ;)

It moves, has arms and grabs things with them - so IMO it is a cybernetic cephalopod which should be assigned to the Order Octopoda, from which the Octopus and other cephalopods arose.

Well Octo or octa.
When they launch we should all just "get ready to Roombo".
(Or is that Roomba or rumble )

Waiting for those landing videos be like...

Also, following the Culture naming convention, the octagrabber should clearly be named Attitude Adjuster. Just sayin'.

I've always favored naming it CUDDLES. The stage is all wobbly and scared.😱 Possibly sea sick.😢 Cuddles would come out, hold it and make it feel better.😁

Well, the roomba (also called octograbber) has been seen in use now. And, contra my earlier predictions, it's not a giant roomba for cleaning the deck.

Another issue is the changeover from aluminum to titanium grid fins. The huge unanswered question that SpaceX has yet to address is, will the new ones work as well as the old as waffle irons for the post-landing lunch?

I don't think the octagrabber should be named after a warship (I'd have to check but I assume Attitude Adjuster was an offensive unit.)

That'll buff right out!

Amazing how the camera was able to deal with the stream of molten Aluminum coming its way....

No chance SpaceX has developed transparent aluminum, eh?  I mean, there *were* rumors somewhere that they were looking into nuclear wessels...

Transparent aluminum already exists since Scotty gave the guy the formula year's ago.

It is in fact a real thing although it is of course an alloy. Cool stuff. And strong. That Roddenberry guy was like Nostradamus. Flip phones, PADDs, transparent Al. Amazing. Next thing we know Elon will be introducing his next great transportation idea, the warp drive.

Check it out.
