Ariane Cornell, Head of Astronaut Strategy & Sales and Head of North American New Glenn Sales, Blue Origin

How much is Blue selling astronauts for? ... asking for a friend

Yeah, I had a friend wondering that, too.  :)

Also, my friend wants to know what are the differences between the North American and the South American New Glenn?  Or would it be a Nuevo Glenn?

Unrelated question, is the plural of Möbius = Möbii?

Umlautee,  Umlautah, Umlauteedah Brah

what is the 2nd time derivative of o anyway?

O-de-o-T-o?

And me thinking that it was "the two owe the tee too".

(Non-English here, sorry if it is a really old joke.)

P.S.: Is this the Cygnus / Antares party, or do I have the wrong address?

Yes.
Good old logical OR versus English or.
Both, of course, consider themselves superior to the naval oar and the geological ore.
Sorry to bring such dull topics to the party thread, I know it can be a bore.

I, for one, can't wait for the Zima launch. I may be in town to see this baby go up!
I forgot about Coors for Kids.

I'm working on my Jim impersonation.

Then the answer, almost certainly, should have been, 'No'.

(Mod. edit: Post moved from updates thread about a post concerning launch weather violations)

the "Think Cloud Rule"?

(Joe vs. the Volcano, 1990, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan:

Joe Banks: I still have a problem. I have a brain cloud.

Patricia: A brain cloud... what is a brain cloud?

Joe Banks: It's - well, maybe I should get a second opinion.

Patricia: You didn't get a second opinion on something called a brain cloud? I mean what are you, a hypochondriac? )

For context:

Launch day probability of violating launch weather constraints: 30%
Primary concern(s): Cumulus Cloud Rule, Think Cloud Layer Rule

Delay day probability of violating launch weather constraints: 10%
Primary concern(s): Cumulus Cloud Rule

DOD has released theme song for Zooma launch

My prediction: the launch team will wear colorful, horizontally-striped shirts (see intros for season 2 and beyond) and converse on an open channel, but solely using "ubbi-dubbi" code. 8)

Launch control is moving to a special location, for this launch only: Box 350, Boston, Mass 02134. ;D

The Zuma discussion thread looks like it might degenerate again into Zuma name origin debates.  I can't reveal my sources, so posting there would just contribute to the thread continuing off-topic.  Still, I shouldn't just hoard the knowledge when it should be documented for posterity, so...

It turns out They came up with the codename "Zuma" because (being shadowy government people), they got their hands on the second season of Stranger Things earlier than anyone was supposed to.  What better thing to call the satellite than "Zoomer"?  Sure, Mike says it's not a real thing, but it totally could be.  Of course, plausible deniability and all, They couldn't just let everyone know that they'd gotten their hands on Stranger Things via completely legitimate means, so they just spelled it "Zuma", knowing that would be enough to throw everyone off the trail while they kicked back with the draft manuscript of the third book in Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicle trilogy.

I've been told by many people that I just *have* to read the books, but I'm holding to my position that I will not start until there's a release date for the third book.  I'm waiting for enough next books already.  ;D

The tie-downs are still welded to the deck, so it doesn't look like there's any hurry to get it fixed - as noted above FH is likely the next landing attempt for OSCILY.

naah, they just plan on landing the next core in the Exact Same Spot(tm)....

That's daft, it's sold out and not backorderable, at least for now...

That's fair and quite reasonable.

But yeah, you should.

The Zuma launch is using a new proprietary fairing material to maximize payload theories.

I introduce to you the new TFH payload fairing.

Looks like the fairing used for the moon landings. Or to deny them, anyway.

Wrong.

Unsupported.

(Oh, I forgot, this is Jim.  Unsuported.)
