I doubt they're spraying water out... seems unlikely to be effective. The fins themselves clearly don't need it.edit: might not even need pumping if you essentially used giant heat pipes ... though I'm not sure if the physics holds up at scale for that to work, and if they'd be overly problematic in a rocket launch noise/vibration environment ...Could be as simple as water soaked material backing the area needing cooled. I think I remember Lockheed had a water wick TPS design, but I can't find any info on it. Does anyone remember this?John

Back at @PortCanaveral and it appears they are removing the hydraulic arms. Perhaps the legs will fold up after this? @_TomCross_ are you around the area today? #Block5 #Falcon9
On second thought, with the hydraulic lines and arms removed, these legs are just going to be taken off. Sigh.
To be honest I'm a bit disapointed... I hoped that folding legs 2.0 won't require any part dismantling, including telescopic struts.

I expect this is just part of that inspection.
Meanwhile the processing of this booster is going pretty quickly - what's the quickest to horizontal so far?
The second leg has been removed. #Block5 #bangabooster

Well that is disappointing. I thought one of the goals was to make it so they wouldn't have to remove the legs. Unless they have to keep doing it until all the block 4s are used up and they can update the handling equipment.

That reminds me of a thought I had on a Southwest flight where the WiFi wasn't working and someone complained. I was thinking, we're at 36,000 feet going 550 miles per hour for a couple hundred dollars and you're disappointed about WiFi. Lets ponder the magic of this situation for a moment. They likely will never do it, but I'd love to see cradle landings for RTLS F9's. That tech would save all kinds of time and weight.
