Something boring, I expect.

The phrase "SpaceX announcement" would disqualify The Boring Company from being involved in any way. They're completely separate.

Not if they tip the boring machine vertical. SpaceX prepares to honor Jules Verne!

You mean to build a Valier-Oberth Moon Gun?
You want to be inspired by things. You want to wake up in the morning and think the future is going to be great. That's what being a spacefaring civilization is all about. It's about believing in the future and believing the future will be better than the past. And I can't think of anything more exciting than being out there among the stars.

I really hope it is something positive, but the oddness of the announcement is unnerving to me.

Just sayin'.

It could be announcing a second commercial launch site.

Maybe they are going to send a crewed Dragon on a loop around the Moon, just because... ;) ;D

In order of likelihood:

1. Spacesuit
2. Customer for Falcon Heavy
3. External investments
4. Google buying SpaceX
5. Mars plan by Trump

If it's suits then all I can say is that Elon's losing it.  ;)
Nah, gotta be bigger than that.  Dragon 2 related.  Maybe a name.  Yah!!
Cheers

not to sound like a deadbeat, but I hope more than a name. :) Names of crewmembers perhaps.

Rolling out of the first internet satellite prototype, of which at least a half a dozen will be launched on the FH Demo (perhaps dozens).

1 PM PST is 4PM EST or Market Close.

Just saying...

That kind of market defensive tactic (for a partner?) is usually done on Friday. Monday sounds more aggressive.

But also the kind of thing where he'd want people to absorb the information before reacting to it... ...hmm.

...Relocating their manufacturing from Hawthorne?

This is good... but more likely manufacturing-related news would be where ITS would be built.

My guess is FH inaugural payload/flight profile.  FH and Raptor/ITS are non-NASA activities, so non-involvement would be fine.  Not so with anything crew-related.

Disagree.  Elon tweeted so that the public would frenzy itself.  He started it either way.
If I like something on NSF, it's probably because I know it to be accurate.  Every once in a while, it's just something I agree with.  Facts generally receive the former.

Would love to hear it's Falcon Heavy throwing a Dragon around the moon, but I think it'll be suits. Hopefully they actually do conform to Elons requirement to look "bad ass".
