Jim - 26/10/2006 6:54 PMI think "abort" is the wrong term
edkyle99 - 26/10/2006 4:56 PMThat has happened before with Sea Launch and other commercial launch providers. Very annoying, to say the least. The viewer is left wondering why. "Are they hiding something?" Etc. There are probably some real contractural or otherwise legal reasons for the video shutdown. - Ed Kyle
Martin FL - 27/10/2006 1:05 AMIt's a near one hour launch window. Can't they recycle for today?

edkyle99 - 26/10/2006 4:59 PMSomeone on the Sea Launch net used the term "Automated Launch Abort", then said "go to abort script five".But yes, I tend to think of an abort as a shutdown of an already-started, or starting, propulsion system.
Danderman - 26/10/2006 8:34 PMFWIW, Ukrainian based systems tend to have a totally automatic launch sequence starting 60 seconds out. The only option for the mission controllers is to abort the automated sequence.
Jim - 26/10/2006 5:53 PMITAR right?
