I'm not sure what the policy on self promotion is around here so mods, please remove this post if it's inappropriate.

Back in May I started a bi-weekly podcast covering NASA human spaceflight history. The podcast is inspired by The History of Rome in that I start from the beginning and just work my way through to the end (defined as STS-135 for the sake of this show), covering lots of lesser known territory along the way.

I realize this is pretty spammy self promotion but I'm genuinely just trying to share with some folks who will hopefully find it interesting. I don't have any ads or anything on the podcast and I'm mostly doing it to learn more NASA history myself, but figured if there was ever a group who would like it (and write in corrections!) it would be here.

Anyway, the podcast is called The Space Above Us and is available on iTunes, Google Play, and Tune In, and you can listen at the show website: http://thespaceabove.us. New shows come out every other Thursday.

I just wrapped up Project Mercury and the latest episode covers the 90th flight of the X-15. Flight 91 comes out on Thursday and then I'll be diving into Project Gemini.

I'm no expert, just a big ol' space nerd, so if I get anything wrong I'd more than appreciate anyone writing in to set the record straight. I just hope some people learn something new and I can kindle a little excitement about space with some new audiences!

I think self-promotion is fine if you have something new and interesting to promote. You might want to list past episodes here. I also suggest finding other forums to promote it, like writing an article for The Space Review.

I would also suggest moving this thread to Spaceflight Entertainment and Hobbies.
It's Tony De La Rosa, ...I don't create this stuff, I just report it.

But it's a history podcast. This is the history section.

Ok, Got It, my miss.

Hey all!

Hopefully dredging up an old thread is the appropriate thing to do here, but I thought it would be reasonable to post a quick update, coming up on 3 years later.

The Space Above Us has continued on this whole time, completing Project Mercury, the X-15, Project Gemini, the Apollo Program, Skylab, and the Apollo-Soyuz Project. I'm currently up to STS-51G and trucking right along. It's been a blast really getting into the weeds on some of these lesser known missions. And I figured if anyone would enjoy a podcast dedicated to getting into the weeds of lesser known missions, it'd be people here.

The show can still be found at http://thespaceabove.us as well as the usual slew of providers (Apple Podcasts, Google Music, Spotify, etc, etc)

If anyone ever has any questions about it I'd be happy to answer them. Otherwise, I just wanted to put in a gentle reminder that the show exists and I think some folks here would enjoy it!
