Well it's not a PR stunt, if she did indeed pay for the ticket.

Putting her money where her beliefs are is how I see it, first the X prize, now an orbital trip.

I've been away too long.

Paris Hilton in space.   Like, wow!   It raises, so to speak, the titillating possibility of sex in space.  Who will claim that "first" or, gasp! -- has it already been claimed?  There have been a number of flights by women of first-rate intelligence, stamina, and drive.  Some of them have even been downright sexy in a domineering, forthright sort of way.

Has there already been a bouncing in the bulkheads?  A writhing round the retros?  Some passion under pressure suits?  Did a wild astronette already get busy shaking her space junk?  (the metaphors only go downhill from here)  Or is the prospect of an intimate liason with nerdy payload specialists and ultra-macho military geeks enough to make any woman's soul run cold?

Inquiring minds want to know.

For lovely, empty-headed Paris, there are logistical problems.  Who will design the tear-away suit?  Who will hold her Chihuahua?  What if it urps?  And who will work camera and sound?  Worse, even the prolific and profligate Hilton might be er, hard-pressed to complete the deed in such a sadly too-short (harumph) time in mickey-gee!  But who knows, there may be more than one record claimed at FL3300 that day.  One for firstest, another for fastest, and if she's really lucky, one for mostest.

We'll all be pulling for her, or at least some sad types I know will be ...

There is no time to do such a thing and you will obviously be strapped down because you are gonna quickly hit Gs on the way down.

But we do have a sexy woman going to the space station  ;)

stargazer777 - 28/8/2006 11:21 PM She's nice, but Jenna Elfman gets my vote.

Amen brother.  I've fancied Ms. Elfman for years!  And she's married to the nephew of my favorite composer, Danny Elfman.

Anousheh Ansari is an intelligent, driven, professional, beautiful woman.  She may only be considered a "spaceflight participant" but she's got a lot more responsibilities and training than a passenger in a VG/SS2 up and down ride that's for sure.

I wonder if she even knows about the space art for space hotels with her family name on it.
