stargazer777 - 28/8/2006 10:12 PMGet the name right guys -- its Paris Hilton, not Paris Hinton. And she may be an idiot, but she's our idiot and a damn good looking one at that. She is the last one to go out the air lock.
Meh. Paris Hilton can be the first slutty celebrity to fly into space...but the world will still know her more for that little night vision escapade in that hotel room.

How can you tell if she is good looking beyond all that make up, but I guess when launching by the pound she would save ya money
btw: is that goofy excuse for a dog going too?
stargazer777 - 28/8/2006 4:40 PM Never heard of her, but she certainly looks talented. She can stay on board too.
Who... Jessica Alba? You're joking right???
stargazer777 - 28/8/2006 10:13 PMHow can I find out how to post a photo on a thread? I know it can be done, I just can't seem to make it work.
kevin-rf - 29/8/2006 8:40 AMNo tax money is being used as far as I can tell...

meiza - 29/8/2006 3:48 PMI wouldn't lump SpaceX into the same as Virgin. The other builds real orbital rockets, the other flies rich tourists to 100 km, which is more like a high airplane ride except you burn a lot of rubber.

The other builds real orbital rockets, the other flies rich tourists to 100 km, which is more like a high airplane ride except you burn a lot of rubber.Virgin is building a step, if the step works they might build another step that could lead to a real commerial LEO flight. Who knows... ...There are several niches in commercial space and what has attracted most of the money to date is GEO com sats. The other markets have not been developed. Look at the guys selling rides on a commercial vomit comet, or those that sell MIG 25 rides, or the tycoon paying to test inflatable structures, or the guys who keep buying launch services to test a solar sail design. SpaceX and Virgin are just part of the developing picture. That is what excites me, and information is so hard to come by on all these projects. Yes it is ashame that other commercial attempts have fizzled. Iridium/Globe Star never met the market expectations, XM/Sirrius are still spending more money than they are taking in, GEO imaging companies are not raking in globs of money either.
I don't count suborbital trips as 'launch services'. Launch servicesput things in orbits. If anything counts, a trampoline manufacturer is building 'launchsystems'. You go suborbital - for a very small definition of'suborbital'.
kevin-rf - 29/8/2006 5:17 PMIs the NM funding, real money or tax breaks. That gets into the great tax debate of should you provide tax benifits and money for infrastructure so as to reap other economic benifits. It is a trend that quite debatable.
stargazer777 - 28/8/2006 11:21 PM She's nice, but Jenna Elfman gets my vote.
Amen brother. I've fancied Ms. Elfman for years! And she's married to the nephew of my favorite composer, Danny Elfman.
apollolanding - 18/9/2006 4:37 PMAnousheh Ansari is an intelligent, driven, professional, beautiful woman.
zappafrank - 21/9/2006 7:07 PMJenna Elfman? She won't go into space, she is afraid Lord Xenu will catch her and torture her ($cientology nut job)
