Maybe I am being a bit premature but has anyone calculated what time the windows would open on Oct 26-27? Just curious.

Really? When did they say that? If that's true then it does seem weird that they'd do this.
They didn't say that - I say that. NHC says there is a 20% chance of 50kts winds, but I think that's crazy.

I used a satellite tracking program called STSPLUS (a DOS program) to predict ISS passes and using current ISS tracking data and entering the date of October 25 an estimated launch time around 4:30 PM EDT is predicted when the plane of the ISS passes over KSC. Each date after October 25, the launch time will slip earlier about twenty minutes a day. This estimated launch time will adjust slightly as the orbital attitude of the ISS changes over time, so this is a ballpark figure only. An estimated launch time for December 23 would be around 3:30 PM EST which is the next available daylight launch window after the October window closes. I hope this information is useful.

I tried using STSPLUS as well, please tell me on how to do this! I can get the pass that is closest to the east of KSC, but how do I predict how many minutes it takes for that orbit to be in plane? Thanks, Erik

Ok, back after a lot of work with talking to Russians. It appears we may have Soyuz TMA 9 delayed and a window extension for Atlantis. They waited until Rollback was certain.
Still in talks, but it's looking hopeful.

Is the payload still in the cargo bay while she is being moved right now?
Yes. P3/P4 is still in the payload bay. There's a little payload risk with this move. The truss batteries requires a recharge every 14 days.
The last recharge was on Thursday last week, so they need to either head out to pad by Sept. 7 or destack and head to OPF-3 for a payload battery recharge.

I'm sure Ernesto is going to bring winds much higher than 30 mph. That has to be due to TStorms. They wouldn't be using 150 gallons of $3-per-gallon gas every hour today for Hans and Frans for no reason.
...and I'm not sure that winds will be much higher than 30mph. I'm pretty sure however you don't understand the shuttle, nor have you watched any of the briefings or read any reports here or checked out any news sources - it can stay on the pad just fine during a thunderstorm. They are moving it because they are concerned that winds will be > 60mph at the pad with Ernesto. End of story. It has NOTHING to do with thunderstorms, it is actually more dangerous to move it today (when storms are possible) than to keep it on the pad today.
Gas prices have nothing to do with this decision.

Wayne Hale just said that they are currently discussing their lightning restrictions for launch, and looking at whether or not they can relax those restrictions to some degree so that optimum lighting might not be required through the entire launch, but on "one end or the other."
