- Interview with the creator of the LEGO Space Shuttle set that recently got the 10,000 votes which makes it eligible for a LEGO review. It is in the same scale as the Saturn V. I hope it will end up becoming a real LEGO set!

LEGO ideas second 2017 review results are in and it's not good news.

https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09b6-0d4c-4307-9da8-3ee9f3d368d6/post/ee91ef13-2712-4f0b-82bc-da5a2f9e634d
Kinda could see it coming for the LUT because it's something that will only be bought by some of the people who already have the Saturn V, but was really hoping for the Space Shuttle.

I hope the space shuttle falls under "New (and confidential) products currently being developed internally", but it could also be "Production capacity", "Build quality" or "Feasibility". The other of the listed possible reasons seem unlikely given that the Saturn V also made it and is very similar in regards to most of the other points.

Shuttle has been done before, many times. So it was always going to have a tough time being selected. Except for AFOLs like me, there may not be a lot of differentiation.  And the tower? Very niche. I hope Valerie decides to just sell plans. Many AFOLs have the needed parts but not necessarily the time to do one from scratch.

Plus 1:110 makes the ET look weird, at least without some expensive new dome molds.

OK, its going to be very difficult to scrape together all these red parts for the umbilical tower manually on ebay or somewhere else. I am sad about that, really.

I think we should be happy that we still got the awesome Saturn V. Together with the (meh) "Women of NASA" and the earlier Mars Curiosity rover it is a pretty good result for space sets from a company not exclusively dedicated to space.

I would have bought the Shuttle, LUT, and/or F-15NB if they had been selected. I am bummed. LEGO’s missing a big opportunity here. If a space enthusiast could by LEGO out.....until then is there any software that you can design a Shuttle LEGO set and print out a list of blocks/elements for it?
I'll even excitedly look forward to "flags and footprints" and suborbital missions. Just fly...somewhere.

Bricklink is your friend. If you have the LDD for the design or the inventory in some other form you can generate a want list and see which combination of resellers can fulfil your needs.

Hey everyone,
here's a stunning Time-lapse Video of a LEGO freak who has set to work ...
but beware friends: Addictiveness !!!

One needs only approx. 4.600 bricks, and in the answers one finds estimates for the price (Robert Feiner), which amounts to approx. 1.300 EUR.

BTW, the ingenious designer of this LEGO-LUT is Bailey Fullarton, who should not remain unmentioned.

And here is a suitable photo from a contribution by Simon Wiens, who has also built this awesome display.

This Mobile Launcher is only a simple display, and the Crawler is another LEGO vehicle.

One can build it with LEGO TECHNIC, as a freak from Australia (OzShan) has shown, whose crawler can even drive.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRk7t8TvVvI&feature=youtu.be

And like the original, it even has a height-adjustable JEL System

And here at Eurobricks the master of all LEGO classes introduces his awesome crawler project,

and his crawler even has an amazing interior.
