Economist: Space Invaders
« on: 02/27/2016 12:34 am »
The Economist released a short video called Space Invaders detailing some of the Newspace companies here in Mojave:

There’s a new space race. In the Mojave desert, SPACE INVADERS follows entrepreneurs and young dreamers as they scramble to get out into the cosmos. Future Works features the people doing tomorrow’s jobs today. The series examines the impact of new technology in creating new jobs—and transforming existing ones. It looks beyond the gadgets to reveal what it’s like to work in the emerging industries of the future.

I tried it at home

You could send some of the cheesy lines in this straight to Rob Lowe.
Human spaceflight is basically just LARPing now.

It's not your Granddad's new NewSpace race for space.
Human spaceflight is basically just LARPing now.

I think is great news to see The Economist actively covering the Newspace companies. Most of them depend entirely on government support (either directly or indirectly) so increased high-quality media coverage is important as it can potentially increase Public support to space-related activities.

Doing tomorrow's job today. Sadly, it's been a day away for about the last 10 years.

Commercial space tomorrow -- because today is almost over.
