Elon: Two more ASDS landings ("two tough ship landings"), then one back to land....the third one from now.

He said that, but I think he mis-spoke.  I think the order they whispered between them was:

Two ocean landings like today (i.e. CRS-9 and FORMOSAT 5)
Two GEO missions (so, hot ocean landings) (i.e. Thaicom8 and AMOS 6).
CRS mission with land landing (CRS-10).

What a past few months for space flight advances. Land and barge landings by spacex, new Shepard landings, bigelow's beam.  5 years ago people would have laughed at you for suggesting any of those but all three in rapid succession would have had you laughed into banishment. Quite amazing and gave me shivers watching the landings live. Congrats to all and here is to the next 5 years of accomplishing the unthinkable

Congratulations SpaceX! This is just too wonderful for words. It's so amazing to finally feel like we're at the beginning of something wonderful rather than at the end of it.

Elon wants to bring fairing back in the future, costs several million
How can the fairing alone cost several million?

A remarkable day:

* successful return-to-flight for Dragon;

* on-time, first-try launch for Falcon;

* successful ASDS landing.

Congratulations all around!  :D

He began by saying "three months" before the whispering began. That would be CRS-9 or Iridium, wouldn't it?

Congrats SpaceX on landing a rocket at sea. It's because of innovators like you & NASA that America continues to lead in space exploration.

Awesome!

Great job SpaceX.

Musk has had a big couple weeks with this and the Tesla Model 3 unveiling.  When does that guy sleep?

He has a great team of highly dedicated and motivated folks. He chooses to nano manage a lot of things he deems important and exciting by himself, but that doesn't mean he can't delegate.
Looking for companies doing great things for much more than money

Redefining the automobile and space industries? Eh, all in a week's work./s  ;D

Praise from the president is worthy praise indeed. I like to imagine that he watched the same livestream we all did, and fistbumped the air/hugged the person standing closest/cheered loud enough to wake up the neighbours at the same time we all did.

Damn fine job SpaceX. As Elon said himself post launch, he gets a lot of credit, but it's the team that makes the dream real. Keep doing what you do.

Despite announcing that we were watching the launch and landing on the big screen in one of the conference rooms, we still managed to surprise a few co-workers when they heard the screaming and cheering coming through the walls.

Congrats SpaceXers everywhere!
We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives.

Launch and landing

This is a great video showing the 1st and 2nd stage in the same frame. Watch the video from the 4:09 mark and look at the top of the frame, you can see the 1st stage coming into view.

Labor:  Hand made, by whom?  10 people making $100k/yr for an entire year? (Just to hit $1M)?

Material:  1000 kg of resin, at 1000 $/kg ?!

Equipment:  $60M piece of equipment (+interest) amortized over 5 years assuming 1/month...   That's the nearest I can guess.
