Among other things, Aegis 5.1 allows "engagement on remote" - meaning a ship can engage a target using data from another ship, without using its own radar.

FYI, the tracking radar from another ship that is sending the tracking data is commonly known as a battlefield management radar with application mostly for anti-ballistic warfare.

SM-3 Ballistic Missile Interceptor Used for First Time in Combat, Officials Confirm
Sam LaGrone
April 15, 2024 1:13 PM
"USS Arleigh Burke (DDG-51) and USS Carney (DDG-64), in the Eastern Mediterranean, fired four to seven Standard Missile 3s to intercept Iranian ballistic missiles headed toward Israeli targets over the weekend, two defense officials confirmed to USNI News on Monday."

Note that the report does not confirm that the missiles actually intercepted their targets, only that they were fired "to intercept" them.
