Spike TV has announced they'll do a Red Mars series, using JMS (who did Sense8, Babylon 5, Thor...)

10x 1hr episodes to start :)
JMS is great at long story arcs, so I have high hopes!

Cautiously optimistic.

Hope they'll have an actual budget and hope it will be free of network meddling (this being SpikeTV, odds of this are non-zero)

Back in 2000 there were rumours James Cameron may adapt the Mars trilogy into movies. The idea went nowhere and instead was Avatar (and its very lame scenario)

Oh my... this could be amazing. JMS is a good choice for this, Babylon 5 covered similar issues during its run. The Mars trilogy easily makes it into my top ten list of books, so I can't wait to see how this turns out.

If the network can keep out of it....

“Sense8” co-creator J. Michael Straczynski will serve as writer, exec producer and showrunner on “Red Mars.”

I trust Straczynski when he has a free hand in the writing.  B5 still to this day has some of the best writing.

The only think I liked about these book was Peter Elson's cover art.  I'll probably give the series a miss.  I would watch in preference to the forthcoming blockbuster the Hagiography of Elon Musk :P
Apologies in advance for any lack of civility - it's unintended
