I'm holding out hope that Alex Kurtzman will be a more hands-off producer and they bring on board a really good writing team. If he's heavily involved in any creative capacity, then yeah, the series is dead (Jim).

Here's hoping that the writing will be as good as Joe Straczynski's on Babylon 5: still the gold standard for me.
