I'm holding out hope that Alex Kurtzman will be a more hands-off producer and they bring on board a really good writing team. If he's heavily involved in any creative capacity, then yeah, the series is dead (Jim).

(I remember that Straczynski wrote an unsolicited Star Trek series treatment with Bryce Zabel in 2004.)
