There is another earth observation startup planning a large constellation: Blacksky global.
They announced on June 16 that they will launch 6 sats with 1-m resolution in 2016 and plan to have 60 on orbit by 2018. The objective is between 30 and 70 revisits/day in 2018 at medium latitudes.
They have VC funding from Paul Allen and others sources (28M$ at that point).
Sounds like a serious competitor to Skybox.
