Darren Jones, chair of the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee in Parliament, said Wednesday that the decision to take a 45% stake in OneWeb appears to have been hurried through before the government could fully evaluate whether it was a smart move. “This whole decision-making process seems unusual and doesn’t have the transparency that it requires,” he said in a video posted to Twitter. “Therefore, my committee will be holding an inquiry to understand the decision making behind this purchase.”Standard UK politics. Government does something that Parliament didn't discuss, parliament find a way to discuss it. The end result will be split amongst party lines.

Or there could be cross-party agreement
Here is my 10 cents on resuming of OneWeb launches.First nickelThe Siberian "tick-born encephalitis" mentioned by Anatoli Zak is NOT the same as "Lyme disease".The first one caused by virus, the second disease is bacterial.Second nickelI spent several field seasons in Eastern Siberia, here is what I know from personal experience:Anti-encephalitis vaccination is required from April to August (September? - not sure).Outside of this period this kind of ticks is not active.Yes, my field trips to Vilyuy and Magadan regions were LONG time ago, by I don't think ticks habits changed significantly. Therefore, I would not expect any trouble with vaccination - for late fall and winter launches from Vostochny.
.@OneWeb's unsecured creditors argue in court motion $1.6bn in secured loans from @SoftBank, @BancoAzteca, @Airbus, @Qualcomm & @RwandaGov were disguised equity, consequently $90m cash & $100m equity in new OneWeb should go to unsecured creditors instead:https://twitter.com/Megaconstellati/status/1290752712557113345
Unsurprising given original cost projections but for the records:Bankruptcy documents reveal that @OneWeb will be left with just $344m by EOY after $1bn rescue by Bharti & HMG. Will need $1.4bn in 2021 and $206m in 2022 before turning profitable in 2023.https://twitter.com/Megaconstellati/status/1294957934317903873
In @FCC filing from 18 Aug @OneWeb seeks authorization to transfer licenses to BidCo (@beisgovuk & Bharti each own 45.45%), says no prior approval required for market access grant but for earth station and experimental licenses, details Bharti partnership.
