Hopefully with Bharti being the largest shareholder, OneWeb launches don't get held up with sanctions.

Hopefully with Bharti being the largest shareholder, OneWeb launches don't get held up with sanctions.
It seems to be headquartered in London, UK. https://oneweb.net/company   , headquarters is typically where the incorporation papers are filed.  UK government is a large shareholder, so on top of the incorporation, UK government would have a big say.
https://oneweb.net/media-center/oneweb-successfully-emerges-from-chapter-11-announces-new-ceo-and-recommences-satellite-launches   -- again mentions London has headquarters.

So as the UK goes, there goes (or not ) OneWeb.

What amazes me is that Russia would even contemplate launching satellites part owned by the uk government, and which the uk government is actively considering for use in global positioning. They must be very keen not to annoy India.

Footage of Rogozin saying that Russia will not launch OneWeb's satellites this Friday if they do not receive guarantees the satellites will not be used for military purposes. What a mess.
He also said regardless of the outcome Russia would be keeping the money for the launch, which OneWeb had already paid in full.
Not 100% clear on the subsequent five Soyuz launches planned this year - they may have paid for those too but don't know if they'll get the money back.

I think Russian commercial launches from the West have just ended.

MOSCOW, March 2 - RIA Novosti. Roskosmos called the withdrawal of the British government from the shareholders of OneWeb a condition for launching the Soyuz-2.1b rocket of the same name from Baikonur on March 5.

Earlier, Roskosmos warned OneWeb that if the company does not provide a guarantee that its satellites will not be used for military purposes by 21.30 March 4, then the Soyuz-2.1b rocket will be removed from the launch, and the satellites will be dismantled.

"In connection with the hostile position of the UK towards Russia , another condition for the launch of spacecraft on March 5 is the withdrawal of the British government from the shareholders of OneWeb," the message on the Roscosmos website says.

So far, preparations for the launch are going on as usual, the state corporation added. The launch of the Soyuz is scheduled for 01.41 Moscow time on March 5.

Roskosmos: for the OneWeb satellite system to work, it needs to be replenished.

Roskosmos: for the correct operation of the OneWeb satellite system, it is necessary to replenish it.

15:14 02.03.2022

MOSCOW, March 2 - RIA Novosti. Without replenishment of the OneWeb satellite constellation, the entire system will not fully work, Roskosmos said on Wednesday.

Earlier on the same day, the head of Roscosmos , Dmitry Rogozin , said that if the system operator does not provide a guarantee by 21.30 on March 4 that the devices will not be used for military purposes, then the Soyuz-2.1b rocket with the next batch will be removed from the launch.

"There are no other means of launching the OneWeb orbital constellation in the near future, and without replenishing the constellation, the full functioning of the system is impossible. At the same time, the Russian side is ready to fulfill its obligations if the foreign customer provides appropriate legal guarantees," the release says.

According to Roskosmos , the satellites at the Baikonur cosmodrome will remain there until the situation is resolved.

There are currently 428 OneWeb satellites in orbit. On Saturday, March 5, the next launch of 36 vehicles from Baikonur is to take place.

So this brings us back to who can Arianespace use to launch these, how soon and what compensation via insurance everyone is going to get (if any).

I imagine it would be a bold political move to sell the UK's stake and if so, would the UK government be "buying back" afterwards.

Because of Britain's hostile stance against Russia, another condition for the March 5 launch is that the British government withdraws from OneWeb.

I somehow doubt OneWeb is getting those satellites launched or even back.

If OneWeb survives this second blow it will be out of sheer oomph by the British govermnent IMO. Maybe it even signals the demise of further megaconstellation projects for the foreseeable future except Starlink.
