The launch of the Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket with the Fregat upper stage and 34 spacecraft of the OneWeb satellite company was postponed to a backup date for technical reasons.

Currently, the space rocket remains in a pre-launch state. The start time will be announced additionally.

UPDATED: According to preliminary data, the launch of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with 34 OneWeb spacecraft as part of mission 35 is scheduled for August 21, 2021 at 01:18:20 Moscow time.

The launch of the Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket with 34 OneWeb spacecraft as part of mission 35 has been postponed to the second backup date - August 22, 2021 at 01:13 Moscow time.

The launch was postponed at the request of the customer for additional work on the ground control and monitoring system for spacecraft.

The launch vehicle, booster and spacecraft are in a stable and safe state. The launch complex is restored to its original state.

The State Commission decided to launch the Soyuz-2.1b ILV from Baikonur on August 22

At the Baikonur cosmodrome on August 21, 2021, a meeting of the State Commission was held, during which the results of tests of the Soyuz-2.1b / Fregat / OneWeb space rocket were considered after a technical malfunction revealed on Friday. In addition, the report of the head of the OneWeb launch campaign was heard, who reported on the resumption of the operation of the software for the ground control and monitoring system of spacecraft.

The members of the commission made a decision on readiness for refueling and launching of the carrier rocket on the second reserve date - August 22 at 01:13:40 Moscow time. At present, a joint crew of specialists from the State Corporation Roscosmos is starting operations to refuel the rocket with propellant components. After that, the final operations will begin at the launch complex of the Vostok site No. 31, the undocking of the mobile filling units from the filling stations and electric dispensers and the evacuation of personnel from the zero mark.

This will be the first launch of OneWeb spacecraft from the Baikonur cosmodrome in 2021, it should bring the number of satellites of the British company in near-earth orbit to 288. The work is being carried out under a contract between Glavkosmos (part of the Roscosmos State Corporation) with Arianespace and Starsem.
