I think SpaceX should name their test dummy "Rocky" because...he's Gonna Fly Now!

No -- see, that's the guy who has the job of lighting the fuses. To change the paradigm of launch system costs, SpaceX saves a
ton of money by removing the electronic ignition command systems -- hence, they always have guys under their rockets, lighting the fuses and then running like hell.
I hear there's a pretty high turnover rate...

Indeed, several hundred RPMs, as they hurtle down the flame trench.

Reddit user /u/FrameRate24 designed a fan-made mission patch for this test as no official one has yet been released (
post). I thought NSFers would enjoy as well.

Didn't SpaceX recently get in trouble for not providing propper PPE? So I'm sure
crispy padrat is fine

I think with further enhancement I can see padrat holding a stick with smores on it.

Yeah, padrat is a tough dude. I heard he taught Bill Brasky how to drink and Chuck Norris how to fight.

This test has been such a long time coming that it's hard to believe that it's tomorrow.
Obviously we al hope for success. But so many things to test in one test, all the SDs, avionics and controls, software, drogue and main chutes, new trunk.
Maybe there is commonality to Dragin 1 on the these systems but it's still a bold big step. If it all works it shows they have a lot ready.

I can't believe I had zero memory of that one (too focused on Atlantis and the 1st ever F9 maybe?), but if all goes right Dragon's pad abort came exactly 5 years after Orion's Pad Abort-1 test!
Now
that is a cosmic coincidence (if it holds)! Pad Abort tests, of two new American capsules, exactly 5 years apart to the day. Great catch GP!

How do they plan on avoiding the cable net between the lightning towers?

I believe their plan to avoid the lightning protection wires is simply to not reinstall the wires they took down for the pad abort test until after the pad abort test, but that's just speculation on my part.
