New images of Baikonur cosmodrome were published on Novosti kosmonavtiki website at the end of July 2006!...

You will find there, for example, current photos of launch pads of Energiya/Buran, Proton, Soyuz, the interior of full-size Buran (4MT) model and buildings for Energia-Buran program...
I see blue polo's anik, can you confirm if that was with the METOP team ?
(grrrr, they beat me with the interior shots of the buran 4mt, but i'm still going for pictures of the other two...)
Nice photo's !!
Sad to see that model of BURAN sitting there, will that be restored or go to a museum ??...For which test was it used ??
Thanks for posting these images... the picture of the Buran model was particularlly interesting to me, as I remember when CNN broke into, as I recall, Larry King Live when Moscow released the video of the launch of the Buran to the world on her maiden flight. I was so fascinated to see this space shuttle heading up... didn't care whose it was... it was just so very interesting.
While I lament in many ways that the Buran programme died a premature death, I am glad that the Russians still have the reliable Soyuz on the pad... and I have to admit that I'd personally rather see it keep flying than this Kliper that they have under development.

Jester, these photos were made on July 26-28, i.e. after postponing of MetOp-A launch...

I think that some (or all) people near 4MT belong to team from Bauman Moscow State Technical University (MGTU), which took part in creation and preparation of Baumanets satellite... They were on Baikonur during unsuccessful Dnepr launch...

4MT was used for static durable tests and debugging works... There is not good future for her, I think...
