Flame Trench Q&A

• I have a question about the flame trench at Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral, which is where the Falcón 9 rockets launch from. Why install these metal bars at the edge of the original duct? Is that where the water deluge comes from?

• It is for water sound suppression.  The flame duct is actually a dry without water deluge.
