Judging by the patch, will the motto be the Latin translation for "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"?

The symbols on the poster look a lot like the elemental symbols (see this image for example). If true, they'd refer to air, earth and fire (top to bottom)

Another intruiging part is the purple hair (present in both the mission patch and the poster). Since most mission patches have something to do with mythology, this could refer to the mythological king Nisos. This guy had a lock of purple hair which made him invincible. And after his daughter betrayed him by cutting of his purple hair, he turned into a sea eagle or osprey. One of his other daughters had a child (the famour hero Bellopheron) with Poseidon (perhaps the girl with the trident refers to her).

wiki shows the Trident having some interesting symbolisms.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trident

The first is a spear meant for fishing (common analogy), which seems appropriate enough. However, some other details I see are equally tantalizing:

1) It's a featured weapon in Korean martial arts.
Possible areas it will be looing down on? They have Orion in the starfield in the background.

2) Associated with Poseidon, God of the sea.
Perhaps it will be looking at oceanic areas: submerged vessels (submarines)

3) "The trident represents the deity in his three aspects of creator, preserver and destroyer"
Now that send shivers...

4) "In Greek myth, Poseidon used his trident to create water sources in Greece and the horse. Poseidon, as well as being god of the sea, was also known as the "Earth Shaker" because when he struck the earth in anger he caused mighty earthquakes and he used his trident to stir up tidal waves, tsunamis and sea storms."

5) "The US Navy Special Warfare insignia, worn by members of the US Navy SEALs, and containing a trident representing the three aspects (Sea, Air, and Land) of SEAL special operations."
I think this one fits the bill quite nicely though  ;)
Remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our rights & freedoms, and for those injured, visible or otherwise, in that fight.

Atlas V NROL-35

The NROL-35 payload is transported and mated to an Atlas V rocket in preparation for launch from Space Launch Complex-3 at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. ULA's Atlas V will launch the NROL-35 mission for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

The longer 5m fairings were only used on the MUOS and the Topaz (FIA-R) launches by now.

Serial number or vehicle number?  Vehicle is AV-051.

When the time gets released it will lilely be posted in the US Launch Schedule thread, here, and on other space web sites.   IIRC, the launch period (not the same as the launch window) usually gets released about a week before launch.  The specific window will come out maybe 2 days before launch.

ULA have posted their page for the launch. Not surprisingly, no new info there.

Atlas V to Launch NROL-35
Rocket/Payload:A United Launch Alliance Atlas V 541 will launch the NROL-35 mission for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

Date/Site/Launch Time: Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, from Space Launch Complex (SLC)-3 at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.

Launch Notes: NROL-35 will be the 51st Atlas V mission since the vehicle’s inaugural launch in 2002, and the third launch in the 541 configuration. An Atlas V 541 successfully launched the NROL-67 mission for the National Reconnaissance Office earlier this year and NASA’s Curiosity rover to Mars in 2011.

Mission Description: The mission will be launched for the National Reconnaissance Office in support of national defense.

Launch Updates: To keep up to speed with updates to the launch countdown, dial the ULA launch hotline at 1-877-852-4321 or join the conversation at www.facebook.com/ulalaunch, twitter.com/ulalaunch and instagram.com/ulalaunch; hashtags #NROL35 and #AtlasV.

According to SFN's launch schedule page NROL-35 is scheduled to launch somewhere between 6 and 8 pm Pacific on December 11 - that is 02:00-04:00 UTC on December 12.  ;)

Anyone here bother to check the NOTAMs to see if it is going Molniya, NOSS, retrograde or polar orbit?   ::)

Well I was tipped from somewhere else with marine broadcast warnings related to this launch - unfortunately I can't find the source. Can someone point to a website that shows up-to-the-minute marine broadcast warnings?

Briefly speaking, the sea closure areas points to a Molniya orbit. No doubt about it.  ;)

Based on that I would say the payload is likely to be a new-generation JUMPSEAT/TRUMPET series satellite. A 541 seems overkill for SDS, the GEO satellites can fly on a 401.

This would also fit with SBIRS HEO-3 being shipped for integration with its host spacecraft in June 2013 - making an imminent launch likely. The last two SBIRS HEO missions flew on 'Improved Trumpet' satellites. NROL-61 is the only other obvious candidate to carry it, and that launch is several years away.

Closure areas published. Targeting a Molniya orbit as Galactic Penguin SST reported.

Suggest more accurate launch time of 02:26UTC. No area for Centaur deorbit.
