BBC Horizon - Man in Space
« on: 08/23/2014 10:48 pm »
For those of you who can see this via BBC iPlayer, there's an excellent film from the BBC's renowned Horizon Science Documentary series currently available. Lengthy interviews with Frank Borman, a bit less with Walt Cunningham and some input from Dr Berry - very much Gemini based, with capsule interior footage.

A bit of a gem, actually...

Also an excellent film about Buckminster Fuller!

Thanks! I am fascinated by Gemini, and will search for this film.

edit:  Oops, I forgot that I'm on this side of the Atlantic.   :)

(I really want to see the piece on Kate Bush too, darn it.)

Watched this yesterday and I think it rates amongst the best spaceflight documentaries I've seen, even though it was made in 1966. The program does not patronise the viewer and the questions asked of Borman were appreciated by him and fully answered. Borman's no nonsense approach to life really shines through as well.

It was interesting to see that Walt Cunningham felt that he was really going to get to the moon. Pity for him he got caught up in his commander's mood on Apollo 7....

For any of you who can get iPlayer, this really is a "must see"; even if it's in 405 line black and white!
