I hope they succeeded in testing most of the things they wanted to. :/

When is the next F9R in New Mexico ready to go?

Remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our rights & freedoms, and for those injured, visible or otherwise, in that fight.

Well, they finally got a smoking crater, but I imagine they were expecting one to be made on touchdown, not a mid air rud. Wonder how much fire time that engine had acquired?  I guess it doesn't have to be a rud, but thats where my money is at. Hope we get a good post-mortem after the internal investigation is done.

Does anyone know if F9R-Dev1 had a FTS installed?

Oh damn, that doesn't look good.

It's just 4 days to Asiasat 6 launch, will they be able to clear the rocket to fly in time?   How much commonality is there between the Asiasat vehicle and the McGregor test article?

I'll even excitedly look forward to "flags and footprints" and suborbital missions. Just fly...somewhere.

Something doesn't look right about that. Did they re-fly the original grasshopper? Look between the explosion and the engine exhaust. It looks unusual.

That we will find out in a few minutes on the other coast.. I understand that static fire is a few mins away

Almost positively.  They're flying around a populated area.

IF it was an engine RUD, it's not like this was a qualification run. This engine had WAY more than 1 standard mission of burn time.

That said...  I can still see an abundance of caution grounding the F9 until they figure out exactly what went wrong.
