I would like to introduce everyone here at NSF to my new website, www.kidspacebooks.com

My wife is an independent consultant for Usborne Books & More. Usborne has an great selection of quality children's books about Space and Science,  but unfortunately these books typically get lost in the shuffle of the 10,000 other books that they carry. To help space enthusiasts get these books into the hands of their kids, I created www.kidspacebooks.com to sell books about Space and Science to my fellow space enthusiasts.

Children's books are a great way to introduce your kids to a topic that you love. Most of us with young children spend time every single day reading to them, why not read to them about something that interests you, and that may inspire a lifelong interest in Space and Science in them? I personally have used these books to introduce my daughter Madelyn to space. The results have been incredible, and she now loves space just as much as her dad does. Even though she is less than 3 years old, she eagerly sits on my lap for every rocket launch and loves to count down and scream liftoff and T-0. If you ask her what orbits the earth, she will quickly respond "the moon and the space station", and if you ask her what orbits the sun, she will quickly respond "the planets, like earth and mars". She soaks up every little detail from these books, and her interest in space has extended beyond the books, as she is now constantly asking me to watch rockets on the computer, or to go to the museum (in this case the National Museum of the United States Air force, about an hour away from me) to see rockets and space ships. Words cannot describe how great it felt when, one night at dinner, she told me "Dada, I need a space suit, I want to go to the moon, and there is no air on the moon, so I need a space suit".

If you are a space enthusiast who has kids, I imagine that you want to share your passion with them, and I have found no better way to do this than with age appropriate kids books about space and science.

www.kidspacebooks.com is a small startup business. It is run by space enthusiasts for other space enthusiasts. nasaspaceflight.com is the only place that I am advertising right now. We currently have about 20 books available, and hope to add more in the near future. If you have any questions, or feedback about the books, please feel free to post them on this thread, instant message me through NSF, or contact us through the contact information listed on our site. I hope your kids enjoy the books we offer, I know mine definitely do.

As a teacher, it is wonderful to see more resources to get children involved.

Thanks Margaret, this is exactly why I am doing this. The resources are out there, but they are hard to find, and normally hidden among hundreds of other books. Even if I never actually make any money with kidspacebooks, I hope to at least inspire a few kids to have a love for Space, exploration, and STEM.

I added some new features to out website last night. I have added in a review system for customer (or anyone who has read these books) to add reviews for other users to see. I am also added additional information about each book, such as page count, author information, and targeted age group. If anyone here has read any of these book, even if you did not buy them from me, I would appreciate it if you could write a review to help others determine if the book you have would be a good fit for their kids.

Yes, there really needs to be some way to see inside these books. You won't sell from just cover art.

Thanks for the feedback Edward. I agree that some insight into whats between the covers on the books would help spur sales. As a potential customer, what would you prefer, simple scans of select pages of the books, video reviews of the books (already working on a few of these), or something else altogether?

Update : I added in select images from the inside pages from some of the books onto the site. I will be working to add in images for the rest of the books over the next few days. Below are a few samples.

I had a small facebook ad credit, so we are now doing a little bit of facebook marketing as well as this sponsored thread. To go along with the small facebook ad campaign, I will be giving away a free book (the winner can choose the age range) to a random selection from the list of people who like our facebook page, once we reach 150 likes. If you would like a chance to win a free book, please visit our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/kidspacebooks and click on "like".

Send rifleman your age, and he can note that they're suitable for your age group! ;-)

Cheers, Martin
