Just the other day, Jim was telling me how great it is to see party threads for what are normally mundane Comsat launches....so here's the next one!

You know the score. On topic, no "LOLZ!!!" But anything else goes. Keeps the main threads free of NONSENSE!

I'm quite sure of the fact that Jim did not use the word 'great' in that context. More like 'ludicrous'

As any Young Frankenstein fan can tell you, the two aren't mutually exclusive.

I'm looking forward to this campaign and seeing if the vehicle and ground support systems are becoming more reliable.
Weather and payload delays may occur but I'll be paying attention to those that are more SpaceX related.
I'm hopeful that we see it go on the first day!

After all that pioneering work by Pad Exploration Technologies (Pad) and everything they learned from it, I'm quite hopeful as well.

Aug 4th is my wedding anniversary, most likely I won't get to watch the launch, so Murphy says it'll launch on time.

Dang, I just remembered a t-shirt I once had and thought "Haulin' AS'" would be a fitting party name for the two next launches...

There's a simple solution for that problem.

Launch window is 0125-0325 E on the 4th though, so depending on where you are that could really be more like late night Aug. 3rd or early morning of the 4th. I guess it also depends on what your anniversary plans are, but you might be ok.

That's great, but you should invert the colors (white letters on blue background).

My first live Falcon-9 launch viewing was COTS Demo 2 at around that time of day - I was in Huntsville (Rocket City USA) on central time that week so it was 0244 for me. It'll be funny if I'm down there again for this one - it's looking like that may be a possibility based on the way various projects are trending.

Well, it's July 21st already, and the launch is scheduled for Aug 4th... they do mean
this August, right?
So, just two weeks to go to launch day? Time to get this party moving... the OG2 party thread was on page 46 on July 1st (two weeks before the launch on July 14th). What are we... slackers?

It's been 7 days since the last SpaceX launch and 14 days till the next one.
Amazingly we can say that last week was the launch and next week is the static fire.
3 weeks, if they can do it is nice pacing. 2 weeks, if they can ever achieve it, is going to feel like a sprint!

Can we have some suggestions for launch coverage drinking games? The only one I can think of is to drink each time a specific time is announced during the count-down. Of course, I'd like to actually have a liver at the end of this, so any other (more reasonable) suggestions?
How about the 13 Minutes of Terminal Drinkdown
Starting with the go or no go poll at T-13 Minutes, you have to drink a 1oz shot of beer every minute till liftoff. For anyone who's tried the "hour of power" this might not sound like much, but it'll do the trick. (and you will still be able to watch the ascent, well hopefully)
In the event of a Scrub, there are consequences....
If the scrub was due to weather - chug one full beer or do 1 shot of 100 proof liquor
If the scrub was due to GSE - chug two full beers or do 2 shots of 100 proof liquor
If the scrub was due to a Vehicle Issue - chug three full beers or do 3 shots of 100 proof liqour

...and, as of today, SFN lists AsiaSat-6 as Aug 25 with launch time TBD.
