Let me congratulate the entire ISRO team for the 28th consecutive successful mission of the PSLV
PSLV launch system shows that it has come of age, despite the small hiccup with the satellite, in one of its subsystems.
Would like to congratulate the ISRO team for getting the Gandhi Peace Prize, announced yesterday.
Recognition of the work ISRO has been doing since decades to apply space technology to solving the problems of the country.
At the same time, the country has placed a great responsibility on ISRO.

Completed the minimum essential requirement of four satellites to enable IRNSS operation.
Orbital injection details: 282.5 km (284 km) x 20,644 km (20,650 km).
Inclination, and AOP are within specified. One order better than the expected dispersion.
With this mission 4 successful missions in one financial year.
Mission after mission, we've been improving through rigorous reviews.

2015 is a very critical year, to have a minimum of 5 more missions this year.
3 more PSLVs, the GLSV-D6 with the indigenous cryo engine (CUS-25?), and... <drum roll> RLV-TD!
Confident on ability to deliver. Says that 1/3rd of all staff at all ISRO centres comprise the youth, and comments on the energy they bring.
Thanks the govt. for support, and exhorts people to continue to keep ISRO at the top of the rankings of government agencies.

It's not only a result of the PSLV maturity, but also a result of the tireless efforts and many sleepless nights. (Wait. what? If it's mature, then why sleepless nights)
Another important thing that he wants to declare, with the permission of the Chairman... The first integrated test of the CUS-25 was conducted last week, and the engine has been tested to the rated level. Now working toward extending the duration to 200s and then to flight duration. The C-25 is on fast-track mode.

I could not travel to Sriharikota this time and had to witness the launch of PSLV C27 from Chennai. Chennai is about 80 kms from the launch pad at Sriharikota. All the pics were taken through my ED80 telescope and Canon 500D. But the good thing was that for the first time I was able to catch the 2nd stage ignition. Normally this gets hidden when viewing from SHAR since we are viewing the launch from behind the rocket path. Chennai gets an almost broadside view.

If the navigation service is a priority, why not launch 1E, 1F, and 1G as the next three PSLV payloads this year?
Are there other considerations?

They could have a single team that works sequentially on testing, preparation and integration. Then you have the LEOP and commissioning that's also better done sequentially. Why double the teams for just 7 birds?

of these the DMC3(UK) and the LAPAN-A2 etc launches earn revenue.

Reasons cud be:
1. As pointed out by Baldusi .. There IS one team ( we can see same faces in every PSLV launch video manning same consoles .. except payload specialists )
2. Only 2 Launch assembly facilities hinder back to back launches in a very short period
3. Surely third party launches can't be sidelined for own 'secondary' missions .. Sky will not fall if IRNSS system is not up in immediate future.
4. IRNSS has a totally different orbit so they can neither be clubbed with Polar nor with 'PSLV launched GSO' payloads. They call for dedicated launch. -

Just to add in my guess, maybe there was a bit of pressure from the military/security establishment to have a minimum working independent navigation system ASAP for their needs. Perhaps that has been achieved with this launch..

Current GSO comm birds have what, 10 year of expected life? That would require the replacement of IRNSS-1A by 2023, probably ready by 2020. If the last bird is IRNSS-1G and goes up by 2017, they will probably be working on the second version for straight replacement.Reasons cud be:
