Google Earth, Russian Launch Facilities.

I went through Google Earth yesterday, and all the Russian Launch facilities at Baikonur Cosmodrome look abandon compared to the US's in Fla. I know it costs money to maintain facilities, but come on, this place has a high launch tempo, so why the poor looking digs?
