The offending array I presume. Discussions seem divided between dinner and pressure readings.

Still equalizing pressure on the Soyuz side.

"How do we determine when the pressure is equalized?"
"When the hissing stops"
Not sure who said what.

Online Galactic Penguin SST

Just after launch I was looking at MCC-M's screens and saw that the port solar array still not deploying minutes after entering orbit, which was strange. So that's actually live telemetry!  :o

What would happen to the mission had this Soyuz been launched on a standard 2 day rendezvous scheme? Try to get to ISS with some instrument switched off? Abort and return to Earth?

Also the spontaneous deployment of the array at docking isn't exactly something that people would feel comfortable with! I wonder if MCC-M is planning to call the cosmonauts to inspect that before the next crew flies in late November? (there's one Russian EVA pre-planned in late October already)  ::)

Going to be verrrrry curious as to what exactly went awry here. As for abort scenarios had it been a 2 day trajectory that would have been a possibility, however I believe Soyuz has enough margin with just one array active and spacecraft bats to make ISS. Not sure though, would have been close even with margin.

No, that is a dragon solar array seen from HDEV.

My thoughts exactly. Look for a foreign object, or deformation of the hinge or latching mechanisms. Shouldn't take long as an add-on to a pre-planned EVA.

Anybody seen any ISS-based imagery of the launch?

I would like to say Congratulations to Crew & all the Teams that made this mission possible. It was refreshing to see the comradery of all the crew. You can see in the Hatch opening that Max was getting impatient with pressurization, Then seeing Gerest & Reid were thrilled to see Elena & Sasha as well. Expedition 41 is a GO!

Thanks, I'll check to see if it's a singleton shot or one of a longer series. Last October with Parmitano's view of the Topol flight, two were tweeted but about 150 in all were taken.

Reid Wiseman @astro_reid
Awesome view of the Soyuz with only one array deployed. Flown by the best!
