Congratulations to SpaceX and everyone else involved! Nice launch though I was also frightened for a moment to see those dark clouds emerging from the bottom of the rocket at launch.

And I also can't wait to see what happened with the first stage...

Bad gateway! No biscuit for you!

Maybe if you and the other 99 percent of people on here joined L2, maybe we could afford all the biscuits we need to avoid such things.

#JustSaying.
I would love to join Chris, but I'm on a fixed income and 89.00/year is too pricey for a a retiree.
Don't feel bad though, I had to cancel my SciAm subscription as well. I do appreciate being able to lurk and participate in the public threads though.

Additionally, I suspect that the need to deploy secondary payloads from the U/S may have led to them choosing a more circular orbit.

.@SpaceX team says the "dark plume" seen during launch presents no concerns for #ISS resupply mission.

I wonder whether this is being driven more by orbital debris considerations, wanting to practice relights on the second stage (building up experience for GTO missions), or if they're trying to use it to start gathering data for F9R upper stage reuse, or something else entirely.
