Following a successful drive from our current and brilliant L2 membership - http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=33064.0 - we're now proud to offer one year L2 terms - for free - to students who are studying engineering and other space flight related disciplines at colleges and universities in (per the origins of the L2 scholarship funders thus far) in the USA, Canada and Europe.

While L2 is a support mechanism for this site's running costs, it is now a huge collection of resources that we believe would provide great benefit to students aspiring to work in the field. Being able to assist such people - in the knowledge some students wouldn't normally be able to afford to join L2 - is the aim of this scholarship drive.

As of right now we have created 22 scholarships (now bumped up to 40)

Two have already been filled.

GaryS - Mechanical Engineering - Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. Sponsor R7 (Antti)
ryan.riley - Mechanical Engineering - Easter Florida State college, USA. Sponsor R7 (Antti)

----

If you qualify per the above requirements, please complete the following process to earn a one year L2 scholarship.

1) Please create yourself an account on the forum, via here: http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?action=register - using your school's e-mail address (.edu) which will verify you. If you are already a member of this site and didn't use your school e-mail, continue below, but send me a message via the forum. Your e-mail is safe with us and only used to verify you, nothing else! Only I can see your e-mail address.

2) Post on this thread, with your username, course and school, as above. (If you don't want your real name shown, create a username that hides that).

3) I will then personally upgrade you into L2 and confirm that on this thread and via a welcome message (PM) outlining L2's overview and rules.

If you are a student who's already joined L2, send me a message and we'll assist you with an additional term, etc.

(This is very much an experiment, but the above should work. I will refine this post as we go, if required).

Wow! This is an amazing opportunity, RichAm said it well about being a long time reader but not having anything interesting to say. The resources available in L2 look extremely valuable, especially when i'm working towards pursuing a career in the aerospace field.

wkann- Mechanical Engineering - Oakton Community College, USA.

Thanks to all those who contributed to provide this awesome opportunity.

I had a one month subscription a few months ago, L2 is awesome but being a broke student I couldn't spend the money for a longer renewal. I keep up to date with all the awesome news articles though!

Thanks!

This says a lot about this site and its membership. Try getting even a discount on any other site with a subscription service and they laugh in your face.

I've been reading the news articles here for years. Great site. Can not WAIT to get into the treasure trove of L2!!
