Anyone have any idea what these quotes from media reports on the launch are about ?? I'm not familiar with the expession "eyes wide".

From the coverage I saw, she looked surprisingly relaxed and composed

http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/09/18/news/space.php

"Solovyov said that Ansari, who could be seen on monitors at Russian Mission Control strapped into her seat in the cramped Soyuz capsule, appeared to be overwhelmed with emotion as the rocket lifted off and quickly placed the capsule in orbit."

http://www.playfuls.com/news_002207_First_Female_Space_Tourist_Blasts_Into_Space.html

"Ansari went through the lift-off eyes wide, as footage from NASA, the US space agency, showed. "

wow, would you look at the guy in the first picture, bottom right. Damn!!! thats close, I wish I was in his shoes, you don't only see it fly, hear it roar and feel the tremble, but you also feel the heat and ingest the smoke. Some experience!

At 06:10 CEST this morning a Soyuz TMA-9 successfully lifted off from Baikonur in Kazakhstan. On board the flight to the International Space Station are Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin, NASA astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria and the first woman space tourist, Iranian-born Anousheh Ansari.

Daily flight plan timelines - http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/station/timelines/index.html

ISS On-orbit Status Reports - http://www.spaceref.com/iss/issnews.html?mid=115 (these reports are appearing in L2 section of this forum much earlier than on SpaceRef)

I wonder if L2 could get the US timelines? They used to be available, then NASA moved them to a secure server and would not release them publicly after 9/11...
