Watching from Lahaina, HA on vacation.   Very excited for this launch.   Go SpaceX!

I miss Lahaina, that was a fun trip.  I wish I was watching from Cheeseburger in Paradise with a pineapple burger and a pint of Kona Firerock.  Of course it is only 8am there but who cares?

Since ISS is never more than 46.5 minutes from "sunset" and it's Friday, I say it's perfectly respectable to hoist a brew. :)

Considering the number of times this launch has been delayed already and the fact that I won't have internet access next week, I'm praying for a smooth launch today.

Music of choice, then, has to be:

I'm always torn trying to listen to both the NASA channel broadcast and the SpaceX live stream during these launches.

Charlie Bolden looks like he aged 15 years as NASA administrator.

And Bobak Ferdowski cut off his mohawk!!

Well, it's Groundhog Day... again... and that must mean that we're up here at Gobbler's Knob waiting for the forecast from the world's most famous groundhog weatherman, Punxsutawney Phil, who's just about to tell us how much more winter we can expect.
Human spaceflight is basically just LARPing now.

UW broadcast of NASA TV running about 15 seconds behind the NTV webcast, but at least I don't have to worry about connection issues.

Heh. Some trolling by SLS now!

Finally!!!!  NASA has produced a picture to represent the message boards and the sometimes child-like behavior.

Kid 1:  "SLS makes sense, blah, blah, blah"

Kid 2:  "No, it doesn't!  There are no payloads!  We should be using depots and existing rockets!"

The kids then literally try to grab it out of each others hands, some to protect it, some to destroy it.

Ahh, yes, a picture is worth a 1000 words.....

Now back to the coverage of SpaceX-3.  :)

Ah... one of the occasions where I can put my several iPads to good use again: One for NasaTV, one for the SpaceX webcast and one for the forum (keeping the Mac free for work, sigh.).

Any suggestions what I could run on the Nexus 7 now to make this a full-blown James-Bond-Villain-Room here?

Wow, That spray of black soot at engine ignition made my heart stop.  Never noticed the first stage getting sooted up like that in previous launches.
