I guess the helium leak being in the stage separation h/w is less embarrassing than it being in the leg plumbing.   :-\

Well if you’re going to scrub, that’s the way to do it, no lingering about and all...

So who’s going to be the first one to roll out the old “space is hard” line... Oh, I guess I just did.... :D

I thought about making a joke about Helium being a noble gas, but the last time I did there was no reaction.

HeHe.

I thought Helium was a city full of naked women on Mars.

Has no one from SpaceX thought about driving to Walmart for a couple of helium balloons?

Two likely candidates for where the lost helium ended up.

Helium isn't used for F9 stage separation.  Mainly just for party balloons and jokes.   :)

Apologies.  I've been informed by a reliable source that helium is used in the pneumatic pushers.  :-[

Some jokers at the pad bled some helium off in order to speak with funny voices? :D

Hey, the Economist saw the early designs of the Mars Colonial Transporter:  it's a Star Wars-type Walker:  MCT Walker

Will need to wait for a future movie to see it in action...

(from the MCT Speculation Thread)

Diverting a conversation from the "General Falcon and Dragon Discussion (Thread 10)" to the MCT Speculation Thread:

Article by the Economist on reusability:
http://www.economist.com/news/science-and-technology/21600968-spacexs-latest-launch-could-change-economics-going-orbit-up-and-down?fsrc=scn/tw_ec/up_and_down_and_up_again
Hilarious cartoon/caricature!

Whadayamean, that's serious storyboarding of a design of an MCT "Walker", analogous to the Star Wars Walkers. ;)

You mean you can't appreciate the usefulness of some large mechanical legs folded up along the sides of the "transformable" MCT during Mars entry and descent, only to open up before landing for a variety of useful purposes after landing?  :D

Re arguments from authority on NSF:  "no one is exempt from error, and errors of authority are usually the worst kind.  Taking your word for things without question is no different than a bracket design not being tested because the designer was an old hand."

I'm feeling hopeful about the weather.  The center of rotation is south of Alabama and all the moisture is pushing due north towards Georgia.  May be a miss.  It's too bad this is an instantaneous launch window.  Can't just wait an hour for the storms to pass like in baseball.
I'm wearing my lucky SpaceX shirt, and tomorrow I'll probably be in line for the Easter bunny all through the launch window.  So it's got to be today!
