Chris, you fogot to add icy roads to list delays. Hopefully the gremlins have run out of ideas to delay this rocket.

You see a lot more than that in the series.  :o  Also Dragons are supposed to be extinct but apparently not.  ;D

A rainbow for luck!

Picture is from a tweet by @collectSPACE (user collectSPACE here) of www.collectspace.com

Quote
original caption: A rainbow forms behind @SpaceX's #CRS3 Falcon 9 at LC-40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., April 14, 2014. pic.twitter.com/vhER3AOZ26

(...assume Robert won't mind me sharing his beautiful picture here since I credit his tweet and link to his excellent site...)

EDIT: I noticed @SpaceflightNow tweeted a similar F9 rainbow picture at about the same time today, so I added that too.

If happy little bluebirds can fly somewhere over the rainbow, why oh why can't Falcon9? I think it can!

Site's already very busy. Warned the guests enough times about removing them from the forum if we get too busy. Looking likely.

Woo Hoo! Snagged it!

I'm watching the KSC video feeds for the launch preps, and they showed the image below that I screen grabbed off of livestream.

It's grainy, but what you're looking for are the two blue circles in the animated cloud loop.  The one at the bottom left shows the KSC launch site.  The other off to the top right- the landing target for the 1st stage! It'll touch down straight east off of the GA/SC line.   The Bahamas are at the bottom right.

If anyone else is watching the loop, this image shows up right after the national precip map that they are showing.

Bring the thunder!

Instantaneous launch window, so it won't become midnight (CET) like on some of the commercial launches.

BTW: if they do not launch today for a minor cause, can they do another attampt tomorrow?

If that's what the other circle is about, that's deserving of the launch thread, never mind the party thread!

I read at innerspace.com that NASA plans to video from an aircraft the booster touchdown in the ocean. Is that confirmed?

Yes, that was based on a statement by Bill Gerstenmaier of NASA as reported by Jeff Foust on Twitter:

Jeff Foust (@jeff_foust) tweeted at 8:23am - 10 Apr 14:

Gerst: will have aircraft monitoring SpaceX effort to recover F9 1st stage on Monday's launch; interest in supersonic retropropulsion.

Thanks, Kabloona. I suppose NASA would share with SpaceX any visual data it collected.

Well if you’re going to scrub, that’s the way to do it, no lingering about and all...

So who’s going to be the first one to roll out the old “space is hard” line... Oh, I guess I just did.... :D
