I knew there was something familiar about the shape of the F9 legs.
You noticed that too!...LOL ;D

It is an "engaging" shape, isn't it?  :D

Looking forward to spring... anyone need ice.. Im done with Ice.. hopefully that will all change with this launch of spx3 ...

bring it on

Me too. SE Michigan is starting to look like friggin' Greenland after 85" of snow (and counting, 60+ days straight) and the Great Lakes being 92% frozen over.

So much SE Michigan whining... WEST Michigan got way more snow..

Michigan, REPRESENT!!!!

At least you folks back east can look forward to summer with a smile on your face.  Going to be a long dry summer out here!  I hope you don't need much water to manufacture rocket parts   :-\

I can't remember, was it this quiet close to launch day for the last F9 launch? You'd think they'd be publicizing it for all its worth given it's the first launch with pretty legs.
What does that tell you?
I'm not sure it tells us anything. Thaicom was really quiet right up until the launch day, from what I recall.

Rockettes traditionally have great legs. I doubt this one will be an exception. 8)

You have to smile at this.
As I type (1530 UTC 2014-3-10) forum members have viewed the Rockettes image 26 times and the rocket image 226 times.
It's obvious which details we consider more interesting!

SpaceX, why must you launch at such an insanely early hour?

This is going to be in my head all week
If I like something on NSF, it's probably because I know it to be accurate.  Every once in a while, it's just something I agree with.  Facts generally receive the former.

Well the goods news is that the launch is now at a much more convenient time for all Americans here (not so for the Europeans!) - let's hope that "March 30" is referring to GMT since that puts the launch at Saturday night local!

(for me it will be close to noon so no worries  ;))

If it is night launch, there may only long range IR video footage of recovery attempt, unless booster can land within spot light range of recovery ship.

I think it's unlikely that a ship would be that close to a predicted impact point from a safety point of view. I agree IR is your best bet.

I was getting ready to drive up to Port Canaveral and follow sghill's suggestions for viewing, and then SpaceX postponed!  I will be long gone by the time they launch.  Bummer! :'(

The F9 v1.1 with legs is definitely much more interesting! Just look at the view counts.

Waiting for launches makes me feel like a kid again.  Just like those times I'd wake up in the morning looking forward to the day, only to find that one of my sisters had gotten into the bathroom ahead of me.

First Soyuz lands in a creepy graveyard, now a "mysterious oil" is found on Dragon, threatening to contaminate its payload with foul vapors.

as crazy as this sounds I'd kinda like to see closer pics of the graveyard.    The frames watching it live made it seem huge  ::)
