If launch aborts, we will bring the rocket down for engine inspection, so probably a few days before next attempt

Space is hard. Abort is preferable to kaboom... and this is still a very new vehicle. Need to get it tamed.

It's amusing how the Flight Director says "to call an abort, say hold hold hold on the primary countdown net" every T-10min and so far we haven't had anyone say that yet. We've had "hold". We've had "abort". We've had "abort abort abort". Seems like pretty simple instructions :)

Perhaps people have got too used to straightforward launches with operators such as ULA & ESA?

...and, I guess, surprisingly problem-free early launches of Falcon 9 v1.0.

At least the webcast and info has been great for the these two attempts. They are sure getting hang of the PR side of things and hey, even scrubs are excellent practice for everyone involved.

Huh? Were you watching the same launches I was?

To be fair, for example Delta IV has also behaved finicky here and there. Also had a pad abort relatively recently.

Also, if I had a dollar for each time someone blamed an abort on the flight computer not "starting"...

Yes, the webcast and the launch crew was more "polished" this time around.

Well space family, thanks for sharing TG with me. Looking forward to the next launch party. See y'all then!

The mere fact that they could try it again an hour after an ignition abort is nothing short of amazing.

I'm reminded of the first Falcon 9 launch.  I had never heard of anything like that before.  That's when I started taking SpaceX seriously.

Seeing that Chang'e 3 is now launching before this one maybe I should now start a cheerleading thread for that....  ::)

Only about 10 percent less visitors on the forum, despite Thankgiving. I imagine there will be some frowns at some dinner tables ;)

I certainly enjoyed streaming it (despite the scrub) on my phone during thanksgiving dinner clean-up (had dinner early).

A wonderful way to celebrate Spacegiving;D
